How do you combine both masculine and feminine styles? For many of us women, our boyfriends or husbands don’t want to live in a world of flowers and pinks. This begs us to talk about the most obvious trend for summer and fall 2012: Linen and Leather.
When visiting the April Furniture Market in Highpoint, North Carolina, nearly every showroom displayed the textural combination of Linen and Leather. As we all know, Linen and Leather are classic textures that will be here for the long run. This year however, designers are mixing things up in a good way. Linen is taking on a new face, one with a vintage feel. Leathers are ranging from clean and solid in tone to rustic and distressed.
The linen look can range from burlap to stonewashed canvas to vintage flea market inspired. Linen with leather accents perfectly pairs with natural woods. What seems quite rustic at first quickly morphs into a chic and sophisticated textural delight.
This soft, neutral color palette brings the perfect combination to create an elegant summer affair to lead us straight into fall.
