A Christmas Clutter Confession

The Daphne Sofa by La-Z-Boy Furniture

Featured Product: The Daphne Sofa by La-Z-Boy Furniture

I have a confession: I’m a holiday addict. Yes, I’m guilty of having Pinterest boards full of fall and Christmas ideas, all my Christmas gifts purchased by Thanksgiving, and always looking for new holiday décor, recipes, and ideas. I love everything about the holidays especially the looks, smells, and memories that are created.

As a designer, my passion is home furnishings, accessories, and comfortable spaces. My real issue was last December when I kept adding more and more holiday décor until I lost the balance of a well designed home! Before I knew it my beautiful rooms had become cluttered and confusing. My holiday décor was all throughout my home, on end tables, wall units, pot shelves, and even artwork. You name it; I decorated it!

I’ve now cleared the clutter of the holidays by finding special impact areas in my home where my holiday décor looks fabulous.

In my home I focused on…

A La-Z-Boy Christmas RoomThe Show-Stopping Tree

The Dining Room Tablescape

Holiday Mantel

Christmas Entry Chest

Sometimes the most difficult part of decorating for the holidays is the editing. Keep it simple, make it special and have a comfortable holiday by cutting out the Christmas clutter.

The result is a wonderful celebration of my favorite time of year.
